Star Wars Sandcrawler

Project log: Here
Finally, there's even something for Star Wars fans and this one has been in the making almost as long as a James Cameron film. The first model was made all the way back in 2002 and has undergone countless revisions and smaller alterations since then.
On the left is the project as it was several years ago and on the right after many more alterations. This really is a mammoth project so if you have half an hour spare and fancy journeying through a great project, take a look at artoodeeto's
project log in our forums as we don't really do it justice here.
The level of detail and scale in the built is spectacular and only gets better the further along we get. Above we can see the entrance as well as the caterpillar tracks. With the core hardware mounted on section including the tracks, the huge top section features much of the detail including small doors exposing all the various sections of the sandcrawler.
Here's some more of that epic detail with the engines and cockpits all receiving some serious attention which, incredibly, is the same for pretty much every square inch of the build.
In the most recent updates to the project, the sandcrawler design appears to be close to finished and looks brilliant. The same can also be said of the PC hardware which includes a water cooling system laid out on a test bench style enclosure so it appears sandcrawler won't be a slouch in the performance stakes, even if the real thing isn't quite as fast as the Millennium Falcon.
